Advantages of Tissue Culture
Tissue culture is a process to produce large quantities bamboo plantlets that is the copy of it's superior motherplant, resulted in uniform size and growth characteristics, through micropropagation under sterile condition in the laboratory that makes them pest and disease free. Tissue culture techniques offer a new perspective in the development of the global bamboo industry. By using this approach, BNV can overcome the limitations faced by conventional methods, such as low quality planting materials and long propagation period.

Tissue Culture Process
The production process for bamboo at our laboratory involves 7 stages. Most tissue culture labs stop at stage initiation. At BNV we handle the production at every stage beginning with the selection of superior mother plants (elite genotypes) up to the growing of mature plants that are ready for distribution to our clients. This ensures that quality control takes place at each step of the production process and that our customers always receive top quality plants.
1. Mother Plants
By using the best mother plants, we ensure that our tissue culture process results in consistent, vigorous bamboo plants for large-scale cultivation.​​​​​

2. Initiation
Plant material from selected mother plants is sterilized and prepared in a controlled environment. This crucial step ensures the elimination of contaminants and sets the foundation for healthy growth, allowing the bamboo cells to begin the cultivation process in optimal conditions.​

3. Multiplication
The "Multiplication" stage in tissue culture process involves rapidly increasing the number of bamboo shoots from the initial plant material. Through careful control of nutrients and growth hormones in a sterile environment, we produce multiple healthy clones, ensuring consistent and scalable bamboo production for various applications.
4. Rooting
Focuses on stimulating root development of bamboo plantlets. During this stage, the plants are treated with specific growth hormones to encourage strong, healthy root systems, preparing the plants for successful transplantation and growth in nurseries and later in the field.
5. Transplanting
in Greenhouse
Moving the tissue-cultured bamboo plants from the lab to the greenhouse. Here, the young plants are acclimatized to external conditions, allowing them to strengthen and develop in a controlled environment before being ready for field planting or commercial use.
6. Production of
Liners (Plug)
These plugs allow the plants to develop a robust root system while gradually adapting to outdoor conditions. This step ensures that the bamboo plantlets are healthy, uniform, and ready for larger-scale transplantation.

7. Polybag
​
Tissue-cultured bamboo plants are transferred into larger polybags to promote further growth and development. This phase provides the young plants with more space for root expansion, ensuring they are strong and ready for field planting or commercial distribution.
